The itinerary for this tour can be adjusted from eight to fifteen days, (or even more), depending on your schedule, and can also do it backwards if you so desire. This trip covers just the foremost highlights of the entire country, including the imperial cities (Rabat, Meknes, Fes and Marrakesh) and the Sahara.
Day 1 arrival in Casablanca
Arriving in Casablanca airport (CMN), you will be picked up and taken to your hotel for the evening. If you arrive in Casablanca, in the morning you will spend the night in Rabat, the capital, just half an hour away.
Day 2 Rabat Meknes Volubilis Fes (4)
Here we will see the majestic gates of Meknes. We will visit the huge vaulted structures, and the famous stables built by the soldiers of Moulay Ismail for their Arab-Berber horses to score a basin fed by underground channels running through the mountains of the Middle Atlas. We will also tour the mausoleum Moulay Ismail and the Place el-HDIM. Thirty minutes from Meknes you will find the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, you will get an idea about Roman life from the ancient olive presses, mansions, incredible mosaics, monumental arches and Corinthian columns. Last we will visit Moulay Idriss Zerhoun overlooks the many ruins. You will arrive in Fes in the late afternoon and be guided to your hotel rooms
Day 3 Fes (private tour)
Today we will explore of the most ancient of Morocco cities. Our tour begins at the enormous gates of the royal palace, and then onto Jewish quarter, built during the 16th century. We will ensure that you visit all the best sites of cultural and historical interest, including the famous al Qaraouine, the oldest university in the world, the tanneries, the Attarine Museum, the mausoleum of Moulay Idriss, the founder of the city, and more.
Day 4 Fes-Ifrane-Midelt-Merzouga (7)
After breakfast we set off for Ifrane, a beautiful village known as the Switzerland of Morocco up in the mountains and forests of the Middle Atlas. Before moving on to Merzouga we will make several stops at different points of interest in the mountains. First off is Azrou, a Berber village in the middle of the famous forest of cedars, the largest in all of Morocco. after we continued to Merzouga you along the beautiful hills and mountains of the atlas. Next stop is Midelt where we will have lunch. Xxxxxxx. We arrive in Merzouga in the evening and will stay in a hotel.
Day 5 Sahara Desert
After breakfast and a shower we take the 4x4 to visit caves where you will find natural desert fossils. After this we will take the road used on the Paris-Dakar rally and cross the desert of black volcanic rock where we will team with a Tuareg family. Then we come to the famous village of Khamlia with its black Africans and its music. They also stage a Dance Festival every year during the first week of August. After returning to the hotel we will set off on camels into the desert and spend a night camping in the desert with Berber music and sand .
Day 6 Merzouga-Rissani-Vallee du Dades-skoura (5)
Attend the sunset, and take some pictures before taking the camels back to the hotel. After breakfast we will visit Rissani before stopping in Tinjedad for lunch. We continue to Skoura where we can go to the gorges of Todra or the Dades Valley. Tonight you will stay in the Palm groves of Skoura, also known as the Valley of the Kasbah. If you prefer not to go to Skoura, a visit to the Dades Valley is always an excellent choice.
7-Day Skoura Ait Ben Haddou-Marrakesh (5h)
After breakfast at the hotel we will head to Ouarzazate, known as the Moroccan Hollywood. We will then pass through Ait Ben Haddou, the largest Kasbah in Morocco, built by T’hami el-Glaoui, one of last Berbers chieftains of the early 20th century. After this we will cross the High Atlas mountains where panoramic views and attractive Berber villages abound on the road to Marrakesh
Day 8 Marrakesh Guided Tour
Today we will venture into Marrakesh, the red city of Morocco. We will explore the most important historical and cultural sites, including the Majorelle Gardens, the Koutoubia Minaret, the Saadian Tombs and the Bahia Palace. After lunch in a restaurant near the Jamaa el-Fna square, you can stoll through the souks and see countless arts and crafts. In the afternoon you will have some free time to do as you please.
Marrakesh Casablanca (3)
Day 9 During the afternoon we will head back to Casablanca.
Day 10 Departure
Today we will say goodbye at the Airport of Mohammed V.
